When a loved one faces criminal charges, it isn’t always easy to know how to give them your support.
A new Birmingham program offered by The Community Law Office now offers resources to families looking to get involved in their loved one’s struggle with the legal process.
Having a good lawyer on your side will always help your case when fighting charges, but hiring a private practice lawyer is not always possible for everyone. In these cases, having the active support of loved ones in the legal process can make an impact. The new program is called Families Advocating for Choice and Empowerment (F.A.C.E.), and it offers a mix of support and education to families and loved ones who need an outlet and want to help. Meetings can include walk-throughs on the typical criminal process, visits from ex-offenders for insight, and more individualized question and answer sessions.
The criminal process can be intimidating for defendants and families, and we believe a healthy support network can be immeasurably helpful for those going through it. We welcome The Community Law Office’s contribution to a greater diversity of options for Birmingham defendants and families.
